CHAPTER 17
VERBATIM TRANSCRIPT WITH THE COETUS PRIMUS
April 27th, 2028 - 01:05 PM
Subject five: Baanardsen Tryggr
Moderator: I am Dijana Krajnc, the official interrogation moderator for the Central European Alliance Investigation Bureau. The fifth subject is Baan...ard...sen Tryg-. Tryg-gr. Baanaar… can I call you Bana? Bana, could you describe, in your own words, the happenings that led to the Coetus Primus saving the Earth and Teya?
Baanardsen: No, you cannot. And you’ll have to be more specific. A lot of happenings led to it.
Moderator: Very well. Would you say that without Dmitar’s intervention the result would not be the same?
Baanardsen: Yes, agreed. It would have been much faster and with far less casualties.
Moderator: Um… Our records show that The Stand’s role was crucial in creating the World we have today.
Baanardsen: That is probable. It is also probable that the World might have been in a better state-
Moderator: What can you tell us about-
Baanardsen: I thought you wanted answers.
Moderator: I am getting to the questions-
Baanardsen: Yes, but will you interrupt me again if you don’t like what I have to say?
Moderator: (pausing) No. My apologies, Mr Baar.. Ban-
Baanardsen: Baanardsen.
Moderator: Yes.
Baanardsen: Yes, what?
Moderator: Yes, that. Your name. Please continue.
Baanardsen: I am lost, which answer would you like to hear?
Moderator: I… Uh. Very well, moving on. (clearing throat) What can you tell us about your own role in saving the World?
Baanardsen: Yours or mine?
Moderator: Both of them.
Baanardsen: I indeed led the mission, but it was the scientists who made it happen. Namely Laszlo, Bogdan and his human crew.
Moderator: So you agree that Commander Laszlo’s part was crucial for the mission.
Baanardsen: (pausing) Yes.
Moderator: What can you tell me about the human girl, Samantha?
Baanardsen: She’s a human girl we picked up in the hostel in Switzerland.
Moderator: Anything else about her you’d like to add?
Baanardsen: No.
Moderator: And what about your comrades? Are they exhibiting any strange abilities?
Baanardsen: No.
Moderator: Are you?
Baanardsen: No.
Moderator: (shifting papers) You were a person of importance on Teya, a Kadum, is that correct?
Baanardsen: Yes.
Moderator: How do you feel now, living amongst civilians?
Baanardsen: Clarify.
Moderator: Do you find it hard adjusting to the human world?
Baanardsen: I have already adjusted.
Moderator: Have the rest of the Coetus Primus?
Baanardsen: Yes.
Moderator: Anything to add?
Baanardsen: No.
Moderator: Very well, Mr Baar…
Baanardsen: Baanardsen.
Moderator: Yes. Thank you.
Baanardsen: Welcome.
